The Churches of Christ Heritage Collection is a repository of books, documents, photographs, religious periodicals, congregational histories, biographical studies, archival materials and artifacts, documenting the history of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement and the Churches of Christ with specific focus on materials from the western United States and the Pacific Rim countries. Digital Collections include the personal papers and research materials of some of the prominent leaders and families in the Church of Christ tradition. 

The Heritage Collection is under the umbrella of the Rushford Center for Research on Churches of Christ and the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement. Read more about the Rushford Center on Pepperdine Library's website.

Jerry Rushford Collection

This collection consists of historical photographs and documents collected by Dr. Jerry Rushboard on the topic of he Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement, the Churches of Christ, and Pepperdine University.

Terry and Susan Giboney Collection

This colection chronicles the life of the Pepperdine alumni Terry and Susan Giboney during their time as Chruch of Christ missionaries in Omika, Japan from 1963 to 1966.

JM McCaleb Collection

JM McCaleb was a Church of Christ missionary who spent nearly fifty years of service in Japan from 1892-1941. The digital collection includes McCaleb's published and unpublished essays, photographs, and documents from his early education throughout his missionary career. 


More than 4200 volumes are held in the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection. To further the mission of the Rushford Center, digitization of select materials from the Churches of Christ Heritage Collection is ongoing.
