clays, co-sponsored by the Malibu I
Lions Club and the Malibu Town-]
ship Council is history now, but
will long be remembered, espe¬
cially by the youngsters, who par¬
ticipated in the two-day festival.
On the prize winning list were:

The kids were guests of the
Lions (Hub at a free lunch, then
witnessed a demonstration of mod¬
ern fire-fighting technique, using
the latest equipment by special
arrangement with the county fire
department. Relay races and a
giant tug-of-war rounded out the
day for the tired but happy chil¬
dren.
Several hundred persons were
lined up at the tables for the pot-

Annual Horse Show
The Trancas Riders and Ropers
will hold their annual summer
horse show and gymkhana Sunday
at the Trancas arena at Zuma
Beach. The show will start at 1
p.m. with a grand entry parade,
folowed by 15 open, junior and
senior events. Club President John
Marron has announced that ribbons
to fifth place will be given in th&
junior events. Post entries will be
accepted.

Junior Horse Show
On July 8, the Malibu Riders
Club will be host at its annual
Junior Horse Show. This will follow
the usual pattern for the Malibu
Riders shows, with the exception
of the novice race for beginners
which will give ribbons to tenth
and for which there is no entry
fee. Starting time for this show is
1 p.m. The chuck wagon will pro¬
vide hot dogs, hamburgers and
soft drinks. The public is invited,
and there is no charge to watch
the show. The arena is- at the in¬
tersection of Malibu Canyon and
the Pacific Coast Hwy.

Latigo Canyon Show
This Sunday will find local horse¬
men competing at the Rancho-
Maria-Louisa in Latigo Canyon.
Starting at 10 p.m. the show will
get under way with western horse¬
manship and a relay race for chil¬
dren of 12 and under and 13 to 17.
The grand entry parade will start
at noon and will be followed with
western events, except in the work¬
ing pairs class which will be open
to both English and western riders.
Post entries will be accepted and
the chuck wagon will be operating.
